Aksheyen is a Life Sciences student at Queen’s University specializing in Cancer Biology, with a strong focus in clinical research, data analytics, and health equity. Known for his strong research and clinical foundation, he has drafted research proposals in cancer immunology and volunteers at Scarborough Health Network. As a director in 

Aksheyen is a Life Sciences student at Queen’s University specializing in Cancer Biology, with a strong focus in clinical research, data analytics, and health equity. Known for his strong research and clinical foundation, he has drafted research proposals in cancer immunology and volunteers at Scarborough Health Network. As a director in the STEM Fellowship club at Queens, he promotes STEM careers among under-exposed high school students, fostering community outreach and advocacy. Aksheyen also participates in global medical brigades supporting underserved 3rd-world communities abroad and combating inequitable access to healthcare through organized camps. As a second-generation Sri Lankan, his deep connection to rural health disparities fuels his commitment to research and public health through his work with CPIP.

Through leadership roles in HOSA and coding education initiatives, Inuk has demonstrated initiative, mentorship, and a drive to make learning accessible. He is eager to explore how research and community care intersect to create real-world impact, especially in underserved communities. Inuk joins CPIP with a commitment to contribute meaningfully to research, outreach, and fieldwork.

She has evaluated global mental health policies as a Research Assistant and contributed to peer-reviewed publications. Anita also brings clinical experience from Saint Vincent Bruyère Hospital, where she supported assistive tech use and developed accessible health materials. Her work with Subaltern Health and Lestari Sustainable Development reflects her global perspective and commitment to inclusive, data-driven solutions.

As a Research Assistant at Schulich, they co-authored a systematic review and supported clinical education projects. They’ve also led harm reduction initiatives as a Residence Don and managed a global team in creating AI-based health education content, while mentoring over 500 students in mental health-focused startups.

Fluent in Mandarin and English, Karen brings both heart and innovation to the CPIP team.

Danté is a Joint Honours Political Science and Public Administration student at the University of Ottawa, bringing a unique blend of policy expertise, frontline experience, and community engagement. He has worked with Crown-Indigenous Relations on treaty negotiations and reconciliation, supported vulnerable populations at Shepherds of Good Hope, and strengthened his communication skills as a Parliamentary Assistant. An award-winning debater, varsity fencer, and dedicated volunteer, Danté combines leadership, resilience, and compassion in all he does.

Beyond academics, Ikjot has coached young children, supported seniors, promoted gender equity, and is currently working with midwives to create accessible, inclusive prenatal education resources.

Sanjay’s experience spans mental health advocacy, patient storytelling, pediatric screening, and culturally responsive initiatives supporting Tamil-Canadian communities. Currently serving as a Project Manager at Sunnybrook and the North Toronto Ontario Health Team, she has led community-centred initiatives in cancer screening, mental health, and mobile clinic coordination, all grounded in health equity and co-design. Her work has amplified the voices of over 40 patient, family, and caregiver advisors.
